Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation Rant

I wasn’t going to do a blog post on this product.

Enough, I thought. There are so many blog post reviews, youtube videos , and the like about this foundation.

And then this happened.IMG_0197

Ugh. That is disgusting! As much as I love this foundation for it’s ability to cover my flaws, it’s beautifully polished-natural finish, and the color match, this is by far the most aggravating packaging for foundation I have ever encountered.

Seriously, Maybelline?!

This is gross. And such a waste of an otherwise good product.

And it makes me mad because it stained a shirt I like from the drippage.

Anyone else run into this problem with the Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Foundation? Have any tricks for getting a foundation stain out of a shirt?

Dear Retailers

Dear retailers,

It is the end of June, and I am forced to face the task of buying a new bathing suit. Why must you make it so hard?

Seriously, why must you include “push-up” padding in size XL bathing suit tops? Do you really think that if I am buying a size XL top, that I really want to enhance my already-big chest? Because news flash: I am not. I wear a size medium in shirts, and I buy XL bathing suit tops to look decently modest: I really do not want to look like I am running around the pool in a brightly-colored, bedazzled push up bra.

Sincerely,

Stephanie

Makeup Story

How old were you when you started wearing makeup?
I started wearing mascara and eyeliner in 7th grade, so probably around 12 or 13.

2. How did you get into makeup?
I always loved art and crafty stuff as a kid. My mom has the most amazing vanity with a drawer just full of makeup. I don’t remember exactly how old I was when I started playing with it, but I remember when I would be home sick or just on the weekends, she would let me just play with it. I’d come up with obscene look using eight lipsticks, wash it all off, and then do it again – for hours.

3. What are some of your favorite brands?
I love MAC, Maybelline, Sephora brand, Clinique, and ELF; among many, many others!

4. What does makeup mean to you?
I think it’s just something to boost self-esteem and confidence. But at times makeup definitely feels like an art form. It’s also a pretty good way to bond with people – by enhancing what other people have, and making them feel more attractive, you can create a good relationship. Also, it’s just fun!

5. If you could only wear 4 products on your face what would they be?
Maybelline Fit Me foundation, any mascara, MAC naked lunch eyeshadow, and Tarte Emphaseyes Gel liner. That’s pretty much my routine anyway!

6. What is your favorite thing about makeup?
Its so versatile: you can go from a very natural look, to a very ‘done’ look in a matter of minutes and products.

7. What do you think about drugstore makeup vs high end makeup?
There’s good in each one! I love both, though I do see a benefit in splurging on things that I use often, and won’t have to get rid of quickly, like eyeshadow, gel liner, and brushes. The drugstore always has gems though. I always get foundation, mascara, and more trendy colors there.

8. What is one tip of advice you can give to a beginner?
Get yourself a good brush set, and practice! Figure out what looks best, and don’t be afraid to play around until you find looks and colors you like.

9. What is one makeup trend you never understood?
Lipliner that is significantly darker than your lips/lipcolor. Why does one want to look like they have a dirty ring around their mouth?

10. What do you think about the beauty community on YouTube?
There are some really talented people on there! I can waste hours and hours watching their videos. It’s a great place to get inspirations, get reviews before you purchase something, and find looks to wear!
